VOC organic waste gas treatment

VOC in the general sense is the command organic compounds; but the definition in the environmental protection sense is the active volatile organic compounds, that is, the volatile organic compounds that will produce harm.

  The organic waste gas mainly comes from the chemical waste gas, fluorine-containing benzene waste gas, gaseous hydrocarbon, odor gas, etc. discharged by various industries (printing waste gas / rubber waste gas / painting waste gas / plastic extruder waste, etc.), which is a part of the gaseous pollutants. Its characteristics are inflammable and explosive, toxic and harmful, insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents, and difficult to handle.

The lack of investment in environmental protection on the production line has led to the emission of a large number of industrial organic waste gas pollutants, which has led to a sharp decline in the quality of the atmospheric environment, seriously harmed human health, and caused huge losses to the national economy. The government attaches great importance to this serious situation, and the environmental protection department lists the treatment of industrial organic waste gas as one of the key assessment indicators.

  The treatment methods of organic waste gas of Ningbo Changqing environmental protection Co., Ltd. mainly include adsorption, absorption, catalytic combustion and thermal combustion. Here are four kinds of treatment methods of organic waste gas。

  一、Adsorption treatment

  (1)Direct adsorption: the organic waste gas is directly adsorbed by activated carbon, and the purification rate can reach more than 95%. The advantages are simple equipment and small investment, but the frequent replacement of activated carbon increases the work procedures of loading, unloading, transportation and replacement, which will increase the operation cost and is not suitable for the environment with high humidity. However, in terms of market application, activated carbon adsorption is the most commonly used technology.

  (2)Adsorption recovery: use fiber activated carbon to absorb organic waste gas, and use superheated steam to reverse blow after approaching saturation for desorption regeneration; this method requires to provide necessary steam quantity. Using activated carbon fiber is more expensive, but the effect is also significant.

  Although adsorption treatment can transfer some organic waste gas, in fact, it can't solve the problem of environmental protection from the root.

  二、Absorption and treatment

  This method is applicable to the waste gas with large volume, low temperature and low concentration, but it needs to be equipped with heating analytical recovery device, which has large equipment volume and high investment.

  三、Catalytic combustion treatment

  The method is mainly to heat the waste gas and convert it into harmless odorless carbon dioxide and water through catalytic combustion. The catalytic combustion method has the advantages of low ignition temperature, energy saving, high purification rate, convenient operation, small floor area and large investment, which is suitable for high temperature or high concentration organic waste gas.

  四、Thermal combustion control

  Its principle is to oxidize the combustible waste gas into corresponding oxides and water under high temperature, so as to purify the waste gas and recover the heat released during the decomposition of waste gas. The decomposition efficiency of waste gas is more than 99%, and the heat recovery efficiency is more than 95%.

  The advantages of thermal combustion treatment method are high purification rate, great flexibility in the treatment of organic waste gas flow, and almost all the waste gas containing organic compounds, as well as the organic waste gas with large air volume and low concentration. The disadvantage is that the investment cost is relatively high, and the organic matter containing sulfur, nitrogen and halogen can not be completely purified.

  Generally speaking, these four kinds of organic waste gas treatment methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. Each industry should reasonably choose the most suitable waste gas treatment method in combination with its own actual situation.
